I Dream
I dream of Buffalo. A Buffalo that thrives on tourism and all of the jobs that come with it.
I dream of the waterfront. Alive with people from all walks of life enjoying their interests and desires.
I dream of a cultural center. An area where one can buy any product or eat at any restaurant as if the whole world was in one spot.
I dream of picnics. A place where family and friends can enjoy each other and watch the sun go down over the lake.
I dream of concerts. A floating concert platform where bands can play to thousands of their fans at one gathering.
I dream of festivals and events. Events of almost any theme that one can imagine from car shows to craft shows to cultural festivals.
I dream of playing games. An area outdoors and or indoors depending on the weather where I can play almost any form of sport around.
I dream of cruising on the lake. Cruises for one evening to throw the dice or a seven-day trip to see the other cities around our Great Lakes.
I dream of water sports. Wind surfing, jet skiing, or boating, with a place to rent them if one doesn’t own them.
I dream of a indoor/outdoor water park. Sliding down water slides, laying in a wave pool, or squirting friends as they go by on a tube ride during any time of the year in either good or bad weather.
I dream of a Amusement Park. Of riding roller coasters and thrill rides or eating cotton candy and hot dogs.
I dream of golfing. Shooting a round or two with friends or watching the greats like Tiger Woods or Ernie Els compete.
I dream of nature. Of walking slowly through nature preserves and teaching children the names of the birds they see and hear or at times teaching them just to be still.
I dream of a place to live. An apartment or townhouse where all of these dreams are just a stroll away.
I dream of owning my own business. Of opportunities abounding. Maybe a hot dog stand, cultural shop, Water taxi, Restaurant, or even a cruise liner.
I dream of a unified community. A community where all backgrounds come together to make the dream come true.
I dream of the growth of Buffalo. Of every attraction that the city now has growing and becoming well known throughout the world.
I dream of a future. Where no one remembers the sorrow we felt when we lived in despair and watched our population dwindle.
I dream of returning. Of watching those who had to leave in order to make a living return to us and to their true home.
I dream of this dream. A big dream yes, an unattainable dream no.
